Calcium Chloride - Concrete Accelerant

 

Calcium chloride is the most commonly used and the most preferred concrete accelerant because it is reliable, quick setting, readily available, and very economical to use. It has been proven that there is a greater accelerated cure rate of concrete, regardless of the cement type, when calcium chloride is added than that of plain concrete alone. This is due to the ability to accelerate cement hydration rate and reduce set time by as much as two thirds, even in coldweather. With as little as 2% added to 100 pounds of concrete, it can increase cure time to 2 hours as compared to 6.
